Week 17

Hungry and Lazy. Trying so hard to feel the "flutters" but so far nothing.
Somehow this baby is Mexican, because Mexican food is its favorite.

The 4th of July weekend was quite eventful. Went to a party at Nate & Shanna Cooks', another at the Madson kids' mom's house in Firestone. Went on a serious hike with Derek, Breezy and Logan at Seven Falls near CO Springs. Went to Waterworld too! Later in the week I played two softball games in a row! We lost both. :( Brett spent most of the week drunk and/or hungover. :)

We got our very first baby presents! A big bag of new clothes that are soft, yellow, and cute! Also included was one of those sun screens you put in a car window for shade. A huge THANK YOU goes out to AARON, ASHLEY, CODEY, BRITANNIA, MORGAN AND THEIR MOM!

  1. wow, you're already at 17 weeks? time goes by fast. for me, i never felt the flutters, or at least i didnt think so. hard to tell if you dont have anything to compare it to. i didnt feel anything till a bit after our 20 week ultra sound (on mother's day actually). and only then was it once and awhile. it turns out, i had an anterior placenta so there was extra padding for the kid to punch and kick at before i could ever feel it. but now? dang this kid is crazy active.

  2. Hey J! Do you have the book "What to expect when expecting"? I don't recall feeling any "flutters" until I was well into my fifth month- almost sixth if I recall.. But if you do not have that book pick it up- its not overly graphic(pictures) or funny, but very informative.
Awesome about the heartbeat! Max's sounded like horses galloping!!
    talk soon! Kirsten
